History

In 1997, Udinese was purchased by Italian businessman Giampaolo Pozzo. Pozzo invested heavily in the club, and Udinese soon became a force in Italian football. The club finished third in Serie A in 2000 and qualified for the UEFA Champions League for the first time.

Udinese has continued to be a competitive club in Serie A, finishing in the top 10 on several occasions. The club has also competed in European competitions on several occasions, including the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
